China Suppliers Trunnion Mounted Ball Valve with Worm Gear - High-Performance Factory Manufacturing
Valve Body Structure
Trunnion mounted ball valve have two types of valve body structures: two-piece and three-piece. The middle flange is connected by bolts. The seal is made of enhanced polytetrafluoroethylene embedded in a stainless steel ring. A spring is set behind the steel ring to ensure that the valve seat is tightly attached to the ball, maintaining a seal. Both the upper and lower valve stems are equipped with PTFE bearings to reduce friction and make operation easier. An adjustment plate is set at the bottom of the small shaft to ensure the contact position between the ball and the sealing ring. Full bore: The valve flow hole diameter is consistent with the inner diameter of the pipeline to facilitate pipeline cleaning.
Performance Advantage
The sphere is supported by upper and lower bearings, reducing friction and eliminating the huge sealing load caused by the imported pressure pushing the sphere against the sealing seat, which results in excessive torque.
The PTFE single-component material sealing ring is embedded in the stainless steel valve seat. The metal valve seat tail end is equipped with a spring to ensure sufficient preload for the sealing ring. When the sealing surface of the valve wears out during use, under the action of the spring, the valve continues to ensure good sealing performance.
To prevent the PTFE sealing ring from burning up due to sudden heat or fire and causing a large leakage that may intensify the fire, a fireproof sealing ring is set between the sphere and the valve seat. When the sealing ring burns out, under the action of the spring force, the valve seat sealing ring is quickly pushed onto the sphere, forming a metal-to-metal seal, achieving a certain degree of sealing effect. The fire resistance test meets the requirements of AP16FA and AP1607 standards.
When the pressure in the valve chamber of the medium becomes abnormally high and exceeds the spring's preload, the valve seat retreats and detaches from the sphere, achieving the effect of automatic pressure relief. After the pressure is relieved, the valve seat automatically retracts.
Both the upper and lower parts of the valve body are equipped with drainage holes. They can be used to check if there is any leakage at the valve seat. During operation, when the valve is fully open or fully closed, the pressure in the middle chamber is released, and the packing can be replaced directly; it can also discharge the accumulated substances in the middle chamber to reduce the pollution of the medium to the valve. What are the main valve body structures of a trunnion mounted ball valve?
Trunnion mounted ball valves generally feature two-piece and three-piece valve body structures, with the middle flange securely connected by bolts.
How does the valve maintain reliable sealing performance?
It utilizes an enhanced PTFE sealing ring embedded in a stainless steel seat. A spring located behind the steel ring ensures sufficient preload, keeping the valve seat tightly attached to the ball even as the sealing surface wears out.
Is the trunnion mounted ball valve fireproof?
Yes. It has a fireproof structure designed to meet AP16FA and AP1607 standards. If the PTFE sealing ring burns out due to extreme heat, a spring pushes the metal valve seat directly onto the sphere to form a metal-to-metal seal, minimizing leakage.
What is the automatic pressure relief function?
When the pressure inside the valve chamber becomes abnormally high and exceeds the spring's preload, the valve seat automatically retreats from the sphere to relieve the pressure, and then retracts once the pressure normalizes.
Why does the valve body have drainage pipelines?
Drainage holes are equipped on the upper and lower parts of the valve body to check for seat leakage, discharge accumulated substances to reduce medium pollution, and safely release pressure in the middle chamber for packing replacement.
